What this site is

This is the author site for Mango Taoist (芒果道长). Here you can read the full English text of Star Map Draftsman Book I and Book II for free. Both books are complete. This is hard science fiction about first contact, dark matter, and a father who wants to go home. It is not LitRPG. It is not a game-stat climb. The chapters live on this site first; Royal Road and Inkitt are alternate shelves if you prefer those readers. The homepage also embeds an interactive star atlas so you can see the map before or while you read.

Explore the Star Atlas

The Star Atlas is a Three.js map of the series' Orion Arm: Earth and the Moon Base, Kuiper Belt 2059, federation territories, and named worlds such as Visadio, Cavnos, and Gorov. Click a world for a short English panel — what it is in the story, without turning the site into a game. Use the homepage embed for a first look, or open the fullscreen atlas for a deeper pan. Lore pages stay spoiler-light; the atlas is an orientation tool.

The series

In 2059, Earth sends engineer Dawn Lucius past Neptune to an alien ship in the Kuiper Belt. Earth first logged it as a ‘meteorite’. A Datheon device marks Dawn as a Star Map Draftsman, while three federations fight over White Crystal, immortality used as governance. He wants only to return to his son Stacean.

Book I, Federation War, follows that first contact and the politics around the chair. Book II, Fate of the Galaxy, opens when dark matter begins to vanish and no one can say why. Lore pages explain the world without spoilers: Kuiper Belt · 2059, White Crystal, the Draftsman role, and dark matter vanishing. For order and tips, see How to read and the FAQ. Chapter 1 is From Earth.

Free complete hard science fiction

Star Map Draftsman Book I and Book II are finished and free to read in full English on this site — 25 chapters plus 22 chapters, no paywall and no unfinished drip. This is hard science fiction: first contact, dark matter, and federation politics on the page. It is not LitRPG and not a game-stat climb. Start with From Earth, or skim How to read for order and shelves.

A father who wants to get home

Dawn Lucius is an Earth engineer and a father. In 2059 he is sent past Neptune to a Kuiper Belt ‘meteorite’ that is an alien ship. He becomes a Star Map Draftsman while White Crystal politics and federation war stretch the cost in years. The throughline is not a romance slogan: he wants to return to his son Stacean.

Both books are complete

You do not wait for the next volume to exist. Read Book I Federation War first, then Book II Fate of the Galaxy. This site and Royal Road lead with Dawn’s book; Inkitt is an alternate shelf with the same free English text. Details on platforms: How to read.
